Overview

This course covers the basic techniques that are needed to meet the demands of student(s) employed in bakeries, grocery stores, restaurants, resorts, and student(s) that are self-employed as a cake decorator.

Instruction will include borders, flowers, writing, and fondant. The student(s) will learn buttercream designs that can be done quickly and directly on the cake top.  The student(s) will also learn how to construct a wedding cake & other special occasion cakes.

  • Students are required to bring one baked, un-iced cake to every class
  • (3) 10-in decorating bags 
  • 3-4 Plastic Couplers
  • 1 Spatula
  • Wax paper
  • Paper towels
  • Disposable Bowls
  • Toothpicks
  • Food Coloring (red, orange, black, brown, green, yellow) Optional – pink, blue, purple
  • Scissors
  • Decorating Tips: #18 or #16, #3 or #4 writing tip, #352 leaf tip, #104 rose petal tip, flower nail, #9, #47, or #48 basket weave tip, #233
