[Clinton, N.C.] – Sampson Community College (SCC) is proud to announce that its Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program received a 100% pass rate on the 2024 National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). Totaling the largest class in program history, all 58 Spring graduates are now able to begin practice as entry-level nurses.

The ADN curriculum at SCC provides knowledge, skills, and strategies to integrate safety and quality into nursing care, to practice in a dynamic environment, and to meet individual needs which impact health, quality of life, and achievement of potential. Upon completion, candidates are eligible to take the NCLEX-RN, which enables them to serve within the global healthcare system upon passing.

In 1972, SCC’s ADN program evolved from its PN program after receiving a National Institute of Health Grant for $108,000. Since then, the program has continued to grow and produce generations of successful nurses at SCC, meeting community needs in healthcare for over 50 years.

According to the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), out of the 55 NC ADN programs represented, SCC was in the top 5 largest groups to obtain a 100% NCLEX pass rate during January – June 2024.  With the former record being 45 graduates in 2018, the 2024 class sets the bar high for the future of nursing at SCC.

Dr. Allie Apperson Croley, Dean of Health Sciences at SCC, praised, “These students worked incredibly hard! I would just like to say congratulations and that we are very proud. It is such an accomplishment to achieve what they have. I would also like to thank the dedicated faculty who helped them get to this point.”

The success of the ADN program graduates is truly a testament to the hard work and dedication put towards education by both faculty, staff, and students at SCC alike. The College is incredibly proud of their achievements and looks forward to what the future holds for nursing on campus.
