On June 22, Sampson Community College (SCC) hosted an adjunct appreciation event on campus in honor of SCC’s hardworking adjunct faculty who contribute immensely to student success each semester.
The event was funded through a mini grant received from the SCC Foundation, allowing for all the expenses to be covered in full. Like the College, the SCC Foundation recognizes the essential role that SCC’s adjunct faculty play in instructing and assisting local students in obtaining a high-quality education.
Lisa Turlington, Dean of Advancement and Executive Director of the Foundation, expressed, “The Foundation is happy to support the celebration of our adjunct faculty that is critical to the delivery of high-quality programming for the college. We greatly appreciate their dedication and commitment to our students.”
Similarly, Dr. Crystal White, Department Chair of Social Sciences, Humanities, and Fine Arts, expressed how grateful SCC is to the adjunct instructors who work so hard to connect students to information and experiences, successfully preparing them for college transfer or careers within the workforce. This event was just a small token of the appreciation they truly deserve.
White voiced, “Sampson Community College sincerely appreciates our instructors for their role in higher education and our community. Through this event, we were able to honor this adjunct group and acknowledge their immeasurable impact upon students’ lives.”
Sampson CC extends its highest gratitude and appreciation towards all its adjunct faculty. The College recognizes their hard work and dedication to student success and development. SCC thanks them for their service to the College and looks forward to seeing all the ways they will continue to help students succeed.
